Washington and Lee University Engagement | Lexington, VA | Jenna and Anthony

Jenna and Anthony will be getting married at Washington and Lee University where they both attended.  They live in Chicago now so this will be a destination wedding for them.  A couple of weeks ago, they flew in to meet with vendors and have their engagement photos done.  It was an early morning shoot and a little misty but well worth it.  These came out so pretty!  Looking forward to their wedding next September!  Thanks Jenna and Anthony!  

Harbour View Wedding Woodbridge, VA | Karen and Bo

Karen and Bo were married at the Harbour View in Woodbridge, VA.  This couple was so sweet and very much in love!  It was a lovely wedding day with a great view of the harbor and the rain held out!!  Karen and Bo were surrounded by family and close friends on their special day with Karen's daughters as her bridesmaids.  Karen looked beautiful!  Best Wishes to you both!   

Montpelier Intimate Backyard Wedding | Rich & Teresa

This small, intimate backyard wedding in Montpelier wedding came together in just a couple of weeks.  The groom, Rich contacted me to capture him and his bride exchanging vows in the backyard of their new home.  Just him, his bride Teresa and the officiant.  Rich and Teresa had known each other for 30 years but had went their separate ways.  On this day, they finally tied the knot!  A very special couple I was glad to have met and also to thank them both for their many years of service in the United States Military.  Congratulations Rich and Teresa!  

Virginia Military Institute (VMI) Engagement Session | Emily & Joseph

This VMI Engagement session was quite meaningful for this couple as Joseph is a recent graduate.  Upon arriving, Joseph was sure to inform me how much he hated getting pictures taken but these images tell a different story!  All I see are both of them having a great time.  Emily was so gracious too, as she was more than willing to have an old buddy of Joseph's in on a photo with them.  Emily, you look beautiful especially with your man who obviously loves getting his pictures taken!!  I know their wedding will be quite fun next year. Thank you Emily and Joseph.  I had a great time photographing you two on the beautiful grounds of Virginia Military Institute. Smith Mountain Lake Backyard Wedding | Katherine & Tony

Smith Mountain Lake provided a beautiful background for this small, intimate backyard wedding for Katherine and Tony.  Katherine contacted me just a few days prior and wanted me to capture some formal portraits.  The ceremony took place on the deck overlooking the beautiful lake as the guests overlooked from another deck from above.  Simple and sweet!  Congratulations to Katherine and Tony! 

Ivy Lake Engagement Shoot | Lynchburg, VA Photographer | Brittany & Klay

Brittany and Klay are Engaged!  These two chose Ivy Lake in Forest, VA for their engagement session.  We were fortunate to miss the rain that was forecasted that evening.  Beautiful views and a beautiful couple!  I love the bow on the back of Brittany's dress!  Thanks to Brittany and Klay for a great session.  Congratulations!

Katelyn & James Engaged | Big Spring Farm Engagement Shoot

It was a hot day at Big Spring Farm and a gorgeous one for this engagement session.  I had just met Katelyn and James this day and it was a pleasure.  It was our first time at Big Spring Farm in Lexington, VA for both myself and this couple.  What beautiful scenery! Towards the end of the session we found a spot where the late afternoon sun was just enough to illuminate Katelyn and James.  Can't wait for their wedding next year!  

Murphy Family | Bedford, VA Family Photographer

This family is from different parts of the country and decided to all meet in Bedford, VA for a week.  Erin came up with the idea to hire a photographer to come take some photos as a gift to their mother.  Erin wanted her mom to relax and enjoy her children and grandchildren and actually be "in" the pictures.  I spent a few hours with this lovely family capturing their summer family vacation.  Here are just a few of my favorites from that day.  Thank you Erin for a great time and for trusting me to capture some of your special family time!  

Seckman Family | Newborn Photo Session | Lynchburg, VA

I had the opportunity to photograph this family back in the Fall when they just had found out they were expecting baby #4!  Now that their baby girl arrived, I came to their home and did a newborn/family session.  We weren't expecting the children to all sit and look at the camera given their young ages, but we got some good ones!  This is how life is with young children and we captured it.  A time that can very easily be forgotten, yet if captured in photographs can be treasured forever.  I love the shots of this precious baby girl and her loving family!

Bedford, VA Wedding

Last October, I second shot a wedding in Bedford, VA.  The wedding took place at a private residence and the views were beautiful with the mountains in the background.  The bride and groom were so easy going as were their friends.  As you can see in the photos below, a good time was had by all!  I especially liked the "lanterns" for the bridesmaids.  I love the way the light from that day captured this sweet bride.  Enjoy!
